Brian,
Sadly despite the forecast none of the snow settled over the St Andrews Links. Shame because I had the camera ready.
Although with how cold it is this evening I've not given up hope.

Brian,
The whins (by this I take it you mean gorse) were starting to bloom a month ago. Not in full bloom but perhaps 20%.

Were these pictures (excellent by the way) taken within the past day or two?

Gorse blooms early
Snow falls late
Wonder why there's a
Global Warming debate?
Send Al Gore up to Dornock (sic) ASAP!

Gorse - my personal favorite 'Weed of National Significance'. (Gotta love those aussies and their 'call a spade a bloody shovel' down-to-earthiness!)
