Formby had to close their 3 holes that touched the sea because of erosion 6 or 7 years ago, I think.

It's barely possible to find the holes now

Not quite erosion but Deal lost 2 Open championships due to serious storms depositing thousands of tons of shingle across the course. That's why we now have a huge shingle bank the entire length of the course.

Added to a lost Open due to war we should have held 5.

North West is one of those courses you strongly suspect was better 100 years ago.  They really have had significant erosion, apparently.  As it is now, it is a bit claustrophobic in spots, and there are a few crossing fairways, and what not.  No high dunes to speak of.  Nice turf, nice setting, a few good holes.

Broadmoor South (Mountain), a very poorly designed Palmer course, thankfully lost out to gravity/erosion and has been replaced by, I think, a Nicklaus design that I haven't seen yet.
