Tom MacWood,

It happens.

Rumson is a neat golf course, in fact, one could say it has a good deal of quirk.  It's very sporty and usually gets some good wind.

The old Arcola also looked extremely interesting.

Unfortunately, the GSP took a good number of holes, and incredulously, the membership sold off a number of interesting holes to Buitoni Macaroni, so the golf course was rerouted several times.  In addition, its bunker style was changed about 10 years ago.  Rumor has it that some additional changes are being proposed and contemplated.

GCA.com would like the old photos.

I'll add Columbia (1911) and Mayfield (1912) - two the funnest courses I've ever run across. Youngstown CC (1911) is good too. Ran grew up playing at CC of Virginia - its Westhampton course was built in 1909. Based on Travis's comments there was some collaboration at Garden City too. A very talented architect, its too bad Barker wasn't able to continue.

Did Barker design the original course at Druid Hills in Atlanta?-A fun old track recently renovated and just down the road from East Lake? I could easily be wrong but I thought his name sounded familiar from somewhere down here.

Bill
He did design Druid Hills (1913). He also added bunkers to the original East Lake (1911).
