Forty years ago I played Pauma Valley and loved everything about it. I need to go back and see whether it was irrational exuberance or not.
Tommy N. Wasn't this a top 100'er at one time?

Bob,
Pauma Valley, upon my only play, I thought was good but not able to knock my socks off. Perhaps most telling is the fact that beyond the first 3 holes, the 10th, and the 18th, I have a difficult time remembering too much about it. I've seen it pop up in a "top 20 in Southern California" list or two...lists whose criteria are a mystery.
Regarding my tastes - they've changed over time considerably. Used to be that I thought TOC looked brown and boring on TV, and I would choose courses to play based on whether or not user reviews on the internet or writeups in magazines/course guides said the course had "elevation changes".
Yep - used to loooove those elevation changes.
