Trees in front of the 18th at Firestone

Am I the only one who was bothered by those trees? Watching them play it 3 times in an hour drove me nuts....

Bill,
You have to remember who designed the golf course.  Like them or not, trees are a primary defense of many of the golf holes.  On another thread we were talking about Valderrama.  If you don't like trees by greens, you wouldn't like that design from RTJ either.  "Bunkers in the sky" as he once called them.

Point well taken. I could take either one of the trees, but both???

Bunkers in the air don't get bigger with time! Do they trim the trees back every year?

When the "bunkers in the sky" are trees, they do (or at least can) get bigger every year  ;)  Some think they are great, some don't.  Oak Tree for example (a Pete Dye design) has a tree in front of the first green that I thought was rediculus.  I could site many many examples.
