The stimpmeter is three feet long but I'm not sure how far up the notch that the ball rests in is---maybe two feet.

Edge of the notch is 29 3/8" from the exit end of the ramp.

The berber carpet in my office at home is rolling about 11'2" today. Dining room is around 8'. My old office with commercial-type carpeting rolled about 17'.  :o

I keep a Stimpmeter in my office at home so my wife knows she's on a short leash. I have to have the fastest carpet in the neighborhood, otherwise she can be replaced.  ;D

I"m inclined to be with Andrew Hastie on this one.
The last time the Heineken Classic was played @ Royal Melb, after torrential rains on the Wednesday the greens were rolling @ 10 for round 1 and Adam Scott knocked a putt 3m by the hole from above it on the 5th and on day two with same green speeds Immelman drained a putt which seemed to run forever (and he didn't give it much) from front left to the front right pin at the first.
Over the weekend the weather fined up, the greens got that bit firmer and quicker and the winning score was lower than than the leader after round 2. Made for great golf though.
Fifteen - I can't imagine that is playable.

I've played legitimate 13 greens in a tournament. It was playable, but it sure gets you worried about what happens 4-5 feet past the hole. You definitely get a number of borderline shots and some really crazy putts. Luckily the course was set up well.

To me once greens get above 11, you have to be very careful with hole locations because there is tremendous potential for goofiness. At 15 only the flattest spots would be pinnable. It would be playable in those circumstances, but unplayable if the setup were overzealous or mismanaged or if it was windy.

Legitimate 11 greens are not crazy to competitive golfers. I'd say that crazy starts at around 13, depending on how slopey the greens are.

I agree completely, Matt.

I own a stimpmeter and have played greens at 12 and 12.5 in SCGA tournaments. The SCGA Golf Course, in fact, has some of the fastest greens in California during the winter and spring months. 12.0 is easily achievable there. At Mission Viejo CC for the SCGA Mid-Am this year, I stimped the 10th green at 12 after my final round.

12 is certainly puttable and I've played some of my best golf on greens that are in the 11.5 to 12 range. 13 would be very, very, very fast, but also still puttable. If Faldo says the greens at Muirfield were at 13, then I believe he was probably close to the truth.

David/Matt:

I guess greens can get that fast - I've just never measured any myself that got even close.   But then again, we don't do course rating during tournament times.  But man, 11 and over has to be crazy fast.  I don't doubt that it can be managed by great players though... just try to do so on highly-contoured greens...as Matt says, that would get silly.
