Goin' Low
« on: July 11, 2006, 04:46:57 PM »

Forgive me, but I'm stopping strangers in the street to tell them I shot my career round today.

The killer is that I left an eagle putt a foot short on 18.  So I carded.. friggin 72.

Congrats on the 72! I also had my lowest score of my life yesterday which was a 79. Finally broke that barrier! The 36 (even par) on the back was also my lowest 9 hole score. So I can relate, it is a great feeling.

Dudes, thanks.

Brian.. nice score.  I myself was under par on the back 9, and that's a first for me.

Rock on!

Dude - I'm with ya.  Nice going.

My last round of golf (exactly a month ago today) on a guy's weekend at Reynold's Plantation.  On the Plantation course finished eagle, bogey, birdie to shoot 75 - my lifetime low by 2 strokes.

I haven't been able to play much lately, so I think I may just quit so I can always say, "well, the last time I played I shot 75."

Andy,

I think this may be apocrychal (?), but someone told me Richard Nixon broke par and quit the game.  He'd done it.

Imagine, Richard Nixon.

Now if only he'd quit politics when he was elected president.  ;D

Sorry- Apologies especially to my friend Lou - I could not resist that one.

PS- good playing - keep up the hot streak.

We may not have Nixon to kick around anymore, but we do have Kim Jong Il -- whose dexterity with the golf clubs makes Nixon look like the worst sort of hacker.

Gary, congrats, we need a little more info than that.  Where did you play?  Were you here in Hotlanta?  I am on the DL right now so I am dying to hear about your round.

Congratulations Gary. I'm not sure exactly why I thought it but I thought you were a pro.

Great rounds.

Politician/golfers:  pretty sure Dan Quayle actually was/is an excellent golfer, who shoots or shot in the 60's fairly often.
