"Mauna Lani Bay Hotel-Hawaii"
« on: March 27, 2006, 03:46:34 PM »
Good Afternoon:

Has anybody stayed at the Mauna Lani Bay Hotel in Hawaii?  My parents are going to be staying their the end of April.  My father wants to play one or two rounds of golf while on the island.  Where should he play?

Thanks again,

JNGIV

John -

I stayed at the Orchid at Mauna Lani and played both of the courses there.  The Orchid was nice at a great rate.

In terms of the golf, I littered the black lava fields bordering the courses with golf balls.  Target golf with tradewinds.  But hey, it's Hawaii.

Enjoy!

There is the Plantation Course at Kapalua - it's the best I've seen.  A good value is the Links at Maui Lanai near the airport.

Wrong island.  Agree with James.  The 2 courses there are both fun.  A few minutes north he could try Mauna Kea as well.

They have 2 hotels at the Mauna Lani Resort. The Mauna Lani Bay Hotel and the Fairmont Orchid. Both play over the two Mauna Lani courses.

The Mauna Lani Bay Hotel is a little bit better and more expensive. Both are very very nice.

Definately play Mauna Kea if there. Mauna Lani is beautiful, but rather standard resort golf design.

Yes and Kapalua Plantation is on Maui, not the Big Island.
