Forget Eminent Domain, how about bankruptcy ...
« on: March 07, 2006, 08:47:15 PM »
Looks like city officials were not so diligent in their due diligence ... but at least the city attorney dug up the details a few years after it all happened.

But then again, maybe using City owned assets as collateral, is common when issuing bonds ... but if so, who not put up Jack Murphy Stadium (or the "Q"), the city zoo, Black's Beach or the Gas Lamp District?

Torrey Pines Used as Collateral ...

It's pretty common.  As the article says, they've been used since 1993, and save millions in lower interest.  Sounds like someone is running for office.

I don't see a problem with that.

I will avoid any direct comments on San Diego's situation as our office is currently under contract to provide consulting services on behalf of the City. We are working on elements relative to the U.S. Open and its impact to public golf in the City.

However, I will attest to the fact that the current management is working very diligently to rectify past mistakes in the golf program. There is a lot of good work being done to the courses and long range planning for the betterment of the City's muni golfers.

To the San Diego residents out there — encourage your City to help the golf program...to fund the courses so they don't get any further behind the curve in condition or infrastructure.
