Crag Burn (RTJ) near Buffalo
« on: February 13, 2006, 07:32:09 PM »
Has anyone played this course from c. 1967 ?  I was curious
about the terrain ,intensity of contours on puttting surfaces,
and character of routing. Is it the best design near Buffalo or
just a fairly difficult course...... thanks

Mark,

I've driven though the development a few times, but have not played. From what I hear the greens are very very good. I think there was a write up in the past if you do a search on Craig Burn.

Not sure if anyone like Scott Witter, Robert Thompson, Ian Andrew or JNCLyon have played it and can comment.

I played it once a long time ago and fairly impressed with it.

Me too.  It has been a very long time, but I was very pleasantly surprised with it.  I really had no preconcieved notions going in, didnt know anything about it, and walked away saying that was a pretty good golf course, and a wonderful club atmosphere.

I would have to dig into parts of my mind that havent seen daylight in years to come up with any more indepth info than that.
