You can't just go around blithely saying things like that left fairway would add yardage---you have to say how much yardage so I can tell how much of a blowhard golf architeture analyst you're trying to be today.
Maybe you don't know any more about geometry than you do about golf architecture but this shouldn't be that hard for you to figure out. Just look at those "shot lines" on that drawing. If you look at them closely you can see they form a perfect OBTUSE triangle standing on its ear and even if you don't know much about triangles I figure it's got to be snap for you to figure out the dimensions and the added yardage off an OBTUSE triangle--that just has to be right up your alley!
