Boys, it is true that the back markers were used everyday in the last Ryder Cup at The Belfry. It was in reaction to the previous Ryder Cup in which loads of players were teeing off with 3 woods. Remember, they banged it high and let the trees kill it and hoped to trickle on. Even short ass Jiminez was doing it. Still, it was a great spectacle.
No, The Belfry is not worth a visit even if one is in the greater B'ham area. It is not a bad course by any means. BUT, in the winter it is the wettest course I have ever seen. and in the summer, they charge something like £400, maybe £500 for the tee. There are better courses for less money readily available.
