Gary Roger Baird Article

Around these parts, it's no small feat to bump NASCAR and Vol football (apparently no arrests last night!) off the front page.  My understanding is that Baird really got a bad case of the Asian economic flu a few years back.  Glad to see he has bounced back.

Does any one know if Todd Eckenrode (sp) is still involved with GRB?  Barona Creek is great fun.  A course definitely worth going out ouf one's way even with the slow play that plagues it from time to time.

Lou,

Todd started his own company, Origins Golf Design based in Irvine, CA in 2002.  Last I heard he was working on a couple of restorations in the west.

If you liked Barona you should check out Eagle Glen in Corona.  Todd was also the project lead for this course.

Misquoted, out of context, as usual. I was writing about design in general in a review of Barona Creek and didn't write or say anything about Bard in particular. But since he's associated with he project the author felt free to lift the phrase and make it look like it was about Baird

Brad,

So does this mean you have very little faith in the abilites of Mr. Baird?

What if he does build the "Pebble Beach of Korea"?  Would any of us travel all the way over there to see it?  Most are probably saying "No way!", but what if Doak or C&C got the site and said the same thing about it.  Some of you would be trying to figure out if your travel agent could arrange a Tasmania to Korea flight.
