In 9+ hours the Golf Channel will be re-airing the 1962 Shell WWG match between Gary Player and Peter Thomson.

Set your VCRs/Tivos - it airs at 6am Eastern.  (Looks like it's 1 hr, instead of the present-day 90 mins.)

If any of you guys could be so kind as to record this onto DVD for me (I will gladly pay the cost of freight to Melbourne Australia) I would be extremely grateful. We dont get access to any of this good stuf down here.

Anyone trying this for Shane needs to be aware that there are different standards for DVD playback throughout the world.  I don't understand them.  My friend that lived in Japan would look at the back of DVD boxes to see if they'd work in his player.

Shane:

You may be able to buy them from the Golf Channel website.  I'm not sure.  You might check.

John thanks - I have three different DVD players in the house (including one very cheap, crappy one which seems to play anything) so I'm willing to take my chances if someone can help out. Cheers, Shane.

Should be available from many places online.  Here is one:

Thanks Kevin.

Brilliant stuff.
It will be wonderful to see Royal at that time.

Not to mention the swings of two of the best players in the last 50 years, near enough to their prime.

Shane,

If you go ahead and order a copy of the tape from the link, we can order three, and I'll split the postage with you.

Hah!  Jason, thanks for posting--it saved me the effort. I happened to see about two holes this AM while tending to the baby, and was wowed by the bunkers. But I didn't know where they were...
