I guess I can't let the pictures go by without commenting on the two photos that show houses in the backdrop. The photo of the second shot to 5 is indeed quite acurate of the influence the roofline has. The hole with its convex or inverted bunker is a gem. The roofline when playing from the right side of the fairway is not immediately behind the skyline of the green-bunker complex. But, as you see, from the left side near the bunker, it is now involved in a detraction from the skyline of the inverted bunker which give the hole its charm with the vagueness of how much there is to work with behind the bunker. That is too bad, but an inevitable problem as the home lots get sold and more houses are built. That house behind 5 is atleast 150 yards from the green.
The photo of 12 is a bit of an illusion due to the zoom on the camera. That house doesn't detract from that particular approach, and is probably 600+ yards behind the green there, with 14 green and 15 fairway still in the background.
It is no secret how much I love WH. While the course won't play any different (if no one tampers with the course routing and bunkering scheme) it will hold its playing qualities except that skylines of greens and bunker complexes as seen on the example of 5th hole will be a detraction. So, I guess it is fair to say that this detraction will mitigate against its high place of esteem in many folks minds. That is a pity, but a reality, IMHO.
