So What Does Ty Willingham Think of The Warren Course Today ?
« on: November 30, 2004, 07:00:05 PM »
Okay as a Boston College graduate we did not help Ty Willingham's career at Notre Dame, but I have to say I am a little sad after his firing today. Notre Dame football, despite our recent success, has always been the big brother to BC football. Notre Dame abandoning their tradition of 5 year contracts for their Head Football Coach may be the final straw of TV, money and National Championships driving the train in university athletic departments. If ND can't hold on, who can ?

So does Ty Willingham have a legitimate beef against C&C's South Bend employers ?

Wow, that's as disappointing as it is surprising. I hope ND's loss is Pitt's gain.

What's this about Pitt?  We need him back at Stanford (the job's open, and the golf course is far better than that C&C crap at ND.....)!

Five-year plans are, for good and/or for ill, so 20th Century.

I think the school had a rather itchy trigger finger in order to get Urban Meyer before he got a better job.  Usually, as is well chronicled, the school shows much class on and off the field.

Mike,

Since I'm a Syracuse grad, I must say with a huge smile, "Bye B.C.!  Enjoy the ACC!  Sorry about the BCS that got away!"  Also, as a past ND employee, I was always glad to see BC come to town because it was usually a good game.

Rich,

The C&C "crap" course at Notre Dame?  Despite all the complaining and University red tape, ND hasn't stepped out to try and build a PARK in the middle of their golf course.  And by the way, did you see the scores of all the teams that played at Stanford in the Collegiate tournament held in October?  Is that course now a par 62 instead of 69??

It appears a few things from Stanford don't measure up to Notre Dame......
