« on: April 27, 2004, 02:24:38 PM »
Stumled across this fine gem today.  While out of my price range, I thought someone around here might want to add this beaut to their collection.  HARD TO FIND!!!!

What does it matter if the poor player can putt all the way from tee to green, provided that he has to zigzag so frequently that he takes six or seven putts to reach it?     --Alistair Mackenzie--

The book has a child's pencil markings on four pages! That takes it down by $200.00. It doesn't have its dust jacket either--that takes it down another $196.00! Who's trying to pull the wool over my eyes on eBay? That's an outrageous starting bid under those circumstances. My final and best offer is $4.57!!

Tom

Those "child's pencil markings" are actually Max Behr's marginal comments on Hunter's text (Max had abominable small muscle control).

I think you should consider revising your bid upwards!

Rich:

If you guarantee the provenance of that child's scribble and that it really is Max Behr's I certainly will up my bid--it's now $4,04.57 but only if you lend me $4,000 first!

If you chaps are onto e-bay you must, must go to the address below.

This is pretty clever. It's a lot of reading (you need to go all the way to
the end), but it's well written. Here is the address:

Is the Huntley link a Dan King auction?  What a gas!

I cant believe how much interest that generated- I really dont get it- do you think someone is really going to fork over $3850 for that piece of junk?

For that much money he should throw in a complementary round at Pebble!

Well, no one bid on the book but look at the hits for the wedding dress.

Over 12,600,000 hits !   ... and still counting.

Fun read.
