Barney, this confirms you are just another middle aged white man, sitting around all day in your pajamas, posting on GCA. ;D  Do you have webtv, and your keyboard is under the quilt?  Where is your puke bucket, it you were soooooo sick? :P

I can't make out what the figurine is.  Might it be King Kong with a golf club?  I see you didn't waste all your down time, now displaying the fancy new computer skills to generate slick Madison ave. graphics.  You should modify the new flashing logo with.... "Eat At JakaB's" or "JakaB's...girls girls girls".

John F., I believe that is 12 green from 13 tee at SH. That bunker has had serious wind erosion problems over the years.  They usually put a wind fence in it over winter.

Dick,

Yes that is the 12th green. Curious about the wind erosion. Is the Island in the middle still there?

John, I haven't seen it since fall of '02.  But, it had been cleaned up a little that preceding spring by 'the wind they called Mariah' and a feller named Proctor. ;) ;D

Notice the trees on the left that are causing the shadows down the middle. That middle is very narrrow and one of the young guns told me the play is to lay-up off the tee.

Here goes my last and final attempt to use the mystic site. If it fails, will someone tell me why copying the url from the properties link doesn't work? Of course if a picture appears, nevermind.

I think it is great that we can use this source to post pictures but does anyone else feel a little cheated that the resolution is so small?

Oh for some 1200x1000's of the 13th at Sand Hills

What does it matter if the poor player can putt all the way from tee to green, provided that he has to zigzag so frequently that he takes six or seven putts to reach it?     --Alistair Mackenzie--

Of the two pictures posted by Mr. Foley, I believe the lower one of the two to be taken from the lower bunker to the left of #11.

N'est pas?

nregan,

I like the draw move you put on that ball...but my question is what is the story of the putter...why is it on the tee with you.

That's not me, it's Pete, on #4.
The putter is there because the tee and the cart are in different directions from the 3rd green.

It's Gene on #11, hoping to fly the bunker.

Brian- Thanks, but I still am uncertain about the process. I have the [] code down, but it's getting the correct url that seems to be my problem.

I started an album, I right click on prperties and copy the url. Do I have to add soemthing to the url? or, do something at mystic to get the correct url?

oh man, how did you do that?
 ;D ;D ;D

Yep, that's moi, the pic from the NCGA magazine I alluded to in another thread awhile back.  Far right, back row.  As you can see I had a little age advantage in this competition... still only came in third though!  These NCGA raters can play!  Yeah, that's my story...
 ;) ;) ;)

ps - my Boston friends will hopefully appreciate the attire - that is a Charles River CC shirt.  Of course their minds are surely not on golf this morning...

Dan, I just meant you'd be celebrating a little event that took place yesterday, a pretty neat little win for one of your local teams!

Hey, the weather here sucks today - pouring rain.  And my local team went 4-12.  :'(

Gene,

Yes that is the very bottom of the left green side bunker on #11. It was my bro-in-laws ball. He ended up in four of the absolute worse places to be in.

-Left green side on #11
-Right side fairway bunker on #14
-Blow out on the left side landing area #16
-left side & short green side bunker on #7

Four of the funest bunker shots you would ever want to play though.

Finally!

Re the uphill architecture thread from last week: These (admittedly poor) photos are from the best uphill par 4 I know of -- the 10th at Northland Country Club in Duluth, a Donald Ross design. The green is wide open in front, but if you land a lofted club a foot short of the green it will roll backwards 30 yards.
