Jack Nicklaus talked about St Andrew's #12 on his video on the 18 best holes of major Championship Golf. I'll check the dialogue on the weekend and post the key thoughts about the green (I hope I'm not confused with #16). Nicklaus certainly talked about placing the ball between the bunkers, and the different options depending on wind (pre new tee placment of course).
Woodlands #4 is a good call. Haven't played it in 20 years, but it is still memorable (the whole course is, and I can even recall the original #8 (circa 1970's), before amendment).
