The United States has basically gone mostly to a party press, where the political stance of a media organization was reflected in its coverage. That's similar to the UK, where people know what the slant of each paper is, and subscribe or don't according to their taste. The New York Times may be the only place left that covers national news that is trying to be objective in reporting what is going on. Don't know if the Post news coverage will be impacted by what Bezos is saying. Obviously the editorial pages are moving right, against things like government regulation, and using tax money to provide public goods like parks, etc.
