A subscription is necessary to open the link. I am surprised as well about the number of new courses, especially those that are national clubs.

I'm fairly certain Cypress Shoals is dead in the water, and has been almost since it was announced.

I'd add:
- Broomsedge (preview play in '24); Rembert, SC; Kyle Franz & Mike Koprowski
- 21 Club; Jackson, SC; King Collins
- Old Sawmill; Ridgeville, SC; Tyler Rae

Miakka is being designed by Dana Fry and Jason Straka. Paul Azinger is consulting, but he certainly isn't designing the courses.

LINKS Magazine [like many other golf publications] tends to highlight the places that pay them to do so.

I'd guess there are at least 50 new courses that will open in the USA in 2025. From my own stable, that includes Sandglass in FL and Childress Hall in TX.  [Each of them might technically open in December 2024, but they will be among the 2025 best new course candidates, along with High Pointe.]

It's possible that Punta Brava in Mexico and Cabot Highlands in Scotland will also open in 2025, but those are outside the USA, obviously.

And that's just me.  There are a lot of architects who have been very busy the past 2-3 years.

Folks---Go to our website:  fescue.github.io

There you will find the new courses, rebuilds, renovations, and restorations we expect to be completed in 2025-2029+.  You can sort this list by putting a "term" in the Search box on upper right ("term" can = Doak, or 2025, or New , or Hanse, or Texas, or Mexico etc.).  You can sub sort with arrows on top of each column.  I counted the following totals (USA includes 1 18 hole project in Puerto Rico):

project size.  USA.    Overseas.     Total
9 holes.          3.            3.              6
36 holes.        4.            2.              6
27 holes.        2.            1.              3
10 holes.                       1.              1
18 holes.       24           31             55

total
projects.       33           38             71

total "18
hole equiv"*  36.5.      38.6.         75.1

* 18 hole equivalents = total holes /18

so answer depends on what you mean by "courses" but USA answer could range from 33 to 36.5...but also note that Tom and I cannot possibly stay on top of status of some 550+ projects worldwide in terms of opening timing....and there is no doubt some of those listed will never finish and there are others that we are not aware of...but our bet is that this is pretty close as an estimate

REGARDING MY REPLY #10 ABOVE:

Note that I have not checked to see if the projects mentioned in prior postings on this thread are currently included on "Fescue"...given that it is midnight and I need to be awake in  5 hours to drive to and play a restoration/renovation in CT on Tuesday...no apology offered. BUT WE WOULD LOVE TO HAVE FEEDBACK REGARDING CANCELLED PROJECTS, PROJECTS WE MISSED, CHANGES IN SCHEDULED COMPLETION TIMING, ETC.  THIS IS AN OPEN PUBLIC WEBSITE WITH ACCESS FEE OF ZIPPO.

Work has restarted (again) on the Feddinch site outside St Andrews. It seems they are aiming for a 2027 opening. Does anyone know whether the course is to be built to Tom Weiskopf’s plans or if there is a new architect involved?

No. The project was sold last year to Alvarez and Marsal, the developers of Paa-Ko Ridge in New Mexico and Hog's Head in Ireland. There is a new course design, I do know who by but I have forgotten  :)

It won't be called Feddinch any more, and I think it will be a resort rather than a private club. See https://amgolf.consultationonline.co.uk

I had never heard that A&M was in the golf development business.  On the plus side, if a project ends up in "workout" status, the mothership A&M (one of the top bankruptcy/turnaround advisors) can advise on finding owner #2 or #3.

True...also in Tennessee, Florida and Texas (states with low tax rates that have had a surge in population).  Absolutely ground to almost a total halt in Calif
