It’s on Reddit, with a few pictures.  Looks interesting. He says he hopes Tom Doak will go to visit since he lives near there.

From what I read, apparently he either sold it to the Manistee National Resort or it was the arrangement from the start.

Lol! I spoke to him directly about it and it's an incredibly cool project, he got a lot of inspiration from King & Collins, on a shoestring budget doing things like buying the sprinkler heads from Oakland Hills when they ripped them out in 2019.

When I first started posting on here, back in the dark ages, my unstated goal was to build my own course someday. Hasn't really worked out, business-wise, but I did also conclude that I couldn't handle the maintenance...

Correct me if I'm wrong, but doesn't this individual work for/own the resort? So the project was an addition to the resorts amenities vs. a stand alone independent project?

That's my understanding, yes. I don't think he truly did it "on his own."
