OT- Split tees

Why is the Tour using 1 and 10 tees for third and fourth rounds this year? It was only done in the past under extreme circumstances.

Could it be due to wanting to finish by a particular time while days are shorter?  Tomorrow's final round is supposed to end by 5pm local time in San Diego.

They usually do when they are on the west coast.  This is because they go off the air at 6PM Eastern on the weekend which is only 3PM out there.

Also this week they have a real big cut.

To "connect" to the public golfer who may be watching? ;)
