Another 9 Hole Question—Aberdeen to St. Andrews
« on: July 01, 2023, 09:54:47 AM »
We have a travel/sightseeing day next month to head from Aberdeen to St. Andrews. Is there a 9 hole course on the route that would be worth me trying to convince my wife to play?

Thanks.

It s not a 9 hole, but the broomfield course at montrose is 18 hole  4770 yards par 67
Should play pretty fast

Montrose is such a nice spot !

Auchenblae is not far from the A90, south of Stonehaven. An informal and quaint village course. Some quirky blind shots to keep you on your toes.
2024: RSt.D; Mill Ride; Milford; Notts; JCB, Jameson Links, Druids Glen, Royal Dublin, Portmarnock, Old Head, Addington, Parkstone, Denham, Thurlestone, Dartmouth, Rustic Canyon, LACC (N), MPCC (Shore), Cal Club, San Fran, Epsom, Casa Serena, Hayling, Co. Sligo, Strandhill, Carne, Cleeve Hill

Also not nine holes (since when do people on GCA discuss the actual topic  ;D ), but I've always thought Stonehaven looked like a real adventure. Only 5000 yards or so.

It’s a little off the direct route but the 9 hole Wee course at Blairgowrie is very good.  If you were OK with a slightly longer drive, then the drive from Aberdeen to Braemar and then down to Blairgowrie is stunning. It’s then about an hour on to St Andrews.
