Thinking of going with a two wheel ride this summer and looking for the wisdom of the board on how best to get around with clubs.


Could be bicycle/e-bike or Vespa style scooter, but probably not a motorcycle.

A double strapped golf bag helps.


I used to ride my bike to Brookline on Mondays with my clubs strapped on my back to play while in college, just the same way from when I was a young junior golfer riding to the local muni.

If it's just around town, one of the electric golf-specific units might be perfect.  One club near me, Alta Mesa Golf Club, actually had one on display outside the pro shop last fall. I even saw a couple being use by members the day I was there.

Thanks Ken I’ll check these out. I’m thinking either an e-bike or Vespa style scooter. It’s about 10m each way to my club with a big hill both ways.


And this may be an unrealistic approach but we have been living a car down, which the United States is not particularly supportive of in its approach to land use, and I would like to keep it that way as I have a developed a deep-seated loathing of cars as much as I love the freedom they provide.

I can see the double strap would be helpful. I currently have a single strap carry bag and probably wouldn’t swap that out. But that would be a relatively inexpensive way “conversion”.


The other destination is a driving range about 4 miles away.


Just leaving my clubs at my club is another obvious approach that moots the OP. I like my clubs with me though.

I'm fascinated by the idea, and recently saw a dealer somewhere here in Mesa that was selling a version of the one from Aliexpress, but I was on one of my 40-mile bicycle rides, and I'll be damned if I can remember where it was.


I am NOT a believer in electric cars, but as a bicyclist, I think there's a real place for e-bikes in urban environments.  I just wish the Class 2 and 3 ones that go up to 28 mph without pedaling weren't allowed on the walking/biking paths.  (Well, technically I don't think they are, but there aren't any cops out there either.)


Common range for them is 50-60 miles with a 28 mph top speed and they can easily carry a golf bag.  This one uses the bag rack as a kickstand, and like other Class 2 and 3 e-bikes doesn't require a motorcycle license, or registration.

I have the 2x2 cycles on the motorcycle.  It unfortunately took some paint off the bike.  I've thought about attaching the Sunday bag to the rear rack, like paniers, on my bicycle but having the asymmetrical weight isn't very good.  Maybe 2 Sunday bags.

An eBike is the way to go.  Studies prove users do get fitter.


Wouldn't take a lot of effort to convert one like this to a caddy cart for clubs.
A local bike shop ("LBC" to those in the know ) could remove pedals, BB, chain, seat etc and fit baskets and a rack to rest/attach clubs to.

Update:




Went with a Juiced HyperScorpion for the eBike. I call it a hybrid eBike/Moped as it has a controller that sets the class of eBike to operate as from no pedal assist up through Class 1, 2, 3…and beyond. It’ll go over 30 in moped mode. Things built like a tank, weighs over 100 lbs with battery, and delivers both giddy-up and range.




For the rack went with the eBike Golf rack from Divnick. Solid construction, straightforward install, does the job, all good from Divnick.
