Grand Slam Winners Favorite Architects
«

Lifted from an article on the PGA Grand Slam of Golf (redundant?) web site (
http://www.pga.com/grandslam/news_120103_twentyq.html
):
5.
Favorite golf course architect?
Mike Weir:
Jack Nicklaus
Jim Furyk:
A.W. Tillinghast
Ben Curtis:
Donald Ross
Shaun Micheel:
Tom Fazio
Weir might have been answering a different question: "Favorite famous golfer who answered a letter of yours, and who is also a golf course architect?"
Shaun Micheel answered all of the other questions (favorite course, hole, shot, etc.) by referring to his PGA victory at Oak Hill. Perhaps he found Fazio's modifications more to his liking than Ross' original design?

Also interesting because Weir has publicly stated his dislike for Glen Abbey, one of Jack's early works in Oakville, Ont....
