BUDA XX1 Return to the Cotswolds 15th to 18th September 2023
£30 deposit required to secure a place, see next post for costs and how to pay.
The reason why Buda this year will be better than the Ryder Cup, is that although both are established stellar transcontinental Golf matches, featuring crack athletes who have been training all year for this, we have 4 days; one more than the lazy pro’s!!!!
GCA has a long association with these courses and collectively they form a distinct group of ‘natural’ courses that all participants here should see.
Friday 15th September AM 9.12 2 tees PM 1.44 4 tees
Cleeve Hill.
IF YOU PARK AT CLEEVE HILL YOU MUST REGISTER YOUR CAR IN THE CLUBHOUSE.
One of the wonders of golf. The scale is epic and the joy unconfined.

9.15 Stranahan Course. Players Club
In this profile Sean writes “I think it rather obvious that I am impressed with the Stranahan Course. The greens alone are worth a visit and I think one of the best sets I have seen in England.”
https://www.golfclubatlas.com/forum/index.php/topic,48856.msg1102965.html#msg1102965 On this evening we will take a MiniBus into nearby Chipping Sodbury. At extra cost.
Monday 18th
9.15 Minchinhampton Old.
Another ‘Common Ground’ course. Lovely just lovely and to think this course was once considered to be the first inland venue for The Open Championship!
This time the profile is by someone who used to be on GCA Ran Morrisett. He says it has that joy to be alive feeling and if you don’t get this course you don’t get golf.

Staying at “The Dormie” Players Club, Codrington, Bristol BS37 6RZ
https://www.theplayersgolfclub.com/ Evening meals are not included in the price but there’s a full menu available on site. Our host, course architect and GCA participant, Adrian Stiff will be around and loves to talk Golf.
Other features available to us include Darts, Pool and I think we should have a knockout tournament for each running across the three nights.
There will be an extra charge for those wishing to join a MiniBus for a Sunday night Curry offsite.
Notes
Initially max of 28 players. I can look into more tee times if demand requires.
This will be one of the most social BUDA’s if everyone stays in the same place! Modern Rooms and fantastic social facilities all in the same building. Full dining on site. We also have options to use a simulator, play Pool, or even the 9 hole par 3 course. There will be a Poker Game Sunday night for those who fancy their luck. There is travel between courses involved, but you can’t have everything!
Note Cleeve Hill and Painswick are strenuous walks. The other two are ideal walks.
Note the rates quoted in next post, for the last 3 days, are for 36, but at those prices some may prefer to only play 18 on those days. The same applies for those who may wish to join us for the day for one or both rounds. With plenty of notice we can get more tee times.
Only the Players Club have Carts and Electric Trolleys. The others have limited no’s of Pull Trolleys and Cleeve have 4 Electric Trolleys. Please contact the Clubs direct if you want to reserve any of these.
Note there is travel involved.
Distances from The Players Club
90 mins from Heathrow, 50 from Bristol Airport.
Allow

Minchinhampton Old 40.
Looking forward to the annual slugfest! (Pun intended).
