Have you seen the article on Kennedy in National Geographic? As you would expect it is pretty big spread with lots of photos of courses around the world.

I am fairly confident that I have read at least one other article in National Geographic.  It had to do with ecology or with reclaiming crapped-out land (Widow's Walk may have been the subject) for golf course use.  I'd be shocked that an esteemed magazine such as Nat Geo would only visit golf for a course collector.

That is not the article - the Kennedy article appeared in the early 50s.

  I think I also might have seen an article in the magazine since my post 7 years ago. But I'm pretty sure the cumulative indexes published pre-internet have only this article. There was also an article about a sunken ship with early golf artifacts.
Also, the National Geographic website and their other publications such as Travel and Adventure now have many golf-related news items and travel articles.
