Hey y’all…it’s been awhile since I’ve posted but I’m alive and well and working in Mexico the past 10 years. Todos bien.
I was searching for any recent news or information on my old friend Tom Paul…any updates? Thanks!

Paul, it’s great to see this; I’ve wondered about you, especially when I’m enjoying one of your courses.  Like you, I really miss Tom’s wisdom.

I speak from time to time with Tom as well.  He still checks out this site once in a while and he called me last year to talk about a post.  We always have a good chat.  I never asked him why he no longer posts, but it is probably not too hard to figure out.  He may see this and reach out.

You can certainly put me in the camp in wishing/hoping/begging for Tom Paul to make a return...

+1

Though we've never met in person, I certainly enjoyed his insights here and the handful of phone conversations back in the day.

Gentlemen,
Is T.E. Paul the legendary "lurker" who makes occasional forays onto this site via proxies!!
His contributions when a bona fide member, and as proxy, were/are invaluable.
Cheers Colin

My voicemail from last week remains unreturned. Has anybody heard from him this year?

Tom Paul was very involved in the creation of Gulph Mills' club history as written by Jeff Silverman.  Its as good as you will find in club history books.

Hanse's team is rebuilding bunkers at Gulph Mills this winter.  I may need to go out there and see if I can find that lost dog Cooreshaw, hopefully I may run into Tom along the way.

The site was better for his participation. I can remember trading a handful of messages with him when I joined and he couldn’t have been any more encouraging or gracious. The interplay between him and Pat Mucci was great stuff.

Thank goodness he's still with us, when I first saw the post almost fell down.

His wit and analytical mind is off the hook and I miss not talking to him on a regular basis. Appreciate the many great chats we had mostly about golf and his love of both Pine Valley and Seminole. He amazes me in his knowledge of my favorite golf course and never seems ( ::) ) to tire of some of my crazy theories about playing the holes.

Apart from his knowledge of all things golf, he could and probably still can really play. Never saw too many people better at tcking from point to point to make a score! :-*

Sure I will talk to him soon, and can't wait to do it!

You may enjoy this thread I did on Gulph Mills.  The Lurker participated a bunch in it.

Like Archie, I was worried when I first saw his name in the subject line!

Reading the Links Club thread brought back memories of TEP - he had firsthand knowledge of the course and he ventured into different directions such as the WASP culture in high-end golf clubs (the Links basically ran out of members at some point).

Great stuff and let's not forget SI Golf+ cover boy, TommyN (or Tony as he was mislabeled!)

 8)  I assume he'd just been hanging around Fernandida Beach in wintertime, otherwise doing virtual lurking from The Barn...
