One of four different vacation communities promoted by the Chicago Evening Post on a subscription basis in the 1920's. The others were located at Lake Michigan (near Coloma, MI), Lake Como and Interlaken.
These types of newspaper-real estate schemes were the brain child of Bertram Chapman Mayo, and took advantage of the new found mobility of the city-bound citizen looking to find their piece of the country.
