Metacomet 1 Year Later

Interesting timeline put together here by GolfNewsRI on the Metacomet saga. It sure seems like it's fate has been sealed but there are still those who have not completely given up hope....

John-Sure would be a great one to pull from the ashes. It was a real treat to play and trying to figure out how to maneuver the 17th hole was an all consuming proposition. :)

The greens on Met's back 9 have been rolled-up and sold to Brae Burn CC – another gem of a Donald Ross course in Boston area (Newton, MA -1919 US Open & 1928 US Am site).Rumored that balance of greens being preserved with the possibility of sustaining a 9-hole residential community.
On the bright side, it is my understanding the new owners are in conflict & suing each other -- "Sometimes in life, as in literature, people get their just desserts. The greedy man loses everything because he can't resist seeking more riches."

Encouraged sadly by this thread, I went back through my August 2016 photos of Metacomet and posted 22 of them on the @buffalogolfer instagram feed this morning.
