Glad you posted this, Steve.
Feinstein's essay is a very good one; but even 20 years ago knowing nothing at all about him or his history I could tell that Bruce Fleisher was a stand-up guy, and someone I wanted to root for against the big guns like Irwin and Wadkins. RIP

I was fortunate to play with and against Bruce a little bit.
He was a friend of my father, they were both golf professionals in Florida, and when I qualified for the tour, he was always helpful and good to me

Bruce and I overlapped each other in high school and  years later, we belonged to the same golf club in Florida.  Until last year when he became sick, we’d play a couple of times each season.  He was never long but he was never short either. He loved to demonstrate how he could hit both a draw and a fade with his driver.  His draw would move two yards to the left of centerline; his fade would move two yards to the right of centerline.  He was really proud of his ability to hit that draw consistently because it went about 24 inches longer than the fade. 

He always smiled when he was hitting those shots.
