Troubadour Golf & Field Club - College Grove, TN
« on: June 03, 2021, 12:39:58 PM »
Just south of Nashville - right in my back yard, yet I've heard nothing about it.  Original design a few years back by von Hagge, Smelek & Baril.  Opened briefly, then closed - perhaps a victim of the Great Recession.    Now back as Tom Fazio (but no mention on his website) designed Troubadour Golf and Field Club, a residential development by Discovery Land Co.  Don't know anyone who has played there.  Odd.

Anyone visited?

Dale, good to hear from our Kentucky correspondent.  Nashville's growth is remarkable.  Amazon just announced they will occupy a second office tower to be constructed to house their 5,000 workers and Oracle closed this week on the $254 million acquisition of 65 acres on the river for their campus that will employ 13,000.

Ironically teed it up yesterday with a friend who recently played in Troubadour's member-guest.  Many professional athletes, including golfers, Titans and Predators were present as well as some well-known country music artists.  Marketing of the lots/houses has been under the radar but purportedly 190 of the 360 lots/memberships have been sold.  He said the place was very high end and the golf course pristine.  It is apparently marketed as an exclusive enclave with very tight security.  It has quickly developed a reputation of escorting any curious onlookers from the premises.

They have a website and I was not bowled over from the golf course photographs.  Zero berm tunnel shots.
