He’s up there with the ranks of Claude Harmon. I hope he has a great retirement.

Can you imagine all the people he has met over the years?

I hope that was satirical.  I think every time I went to Oakmont when I worked in Western PA I'd ask where Bob was and he was always out playing.  Same the one time I went to Seminole.
He is a great guy and I hope he has many years of enjoyable retirement golf.

We all have to retire from our chosen work at some time, but goodness, was this really work?

Reminds me of the great advice I heard in my younger days -- "Do what you love and won't work a day in your life."

All the best to him, boy could he ever write a book...

Ford had one of the smoothest golf swings I ever saw.

I guarantee you being the head professional for two memberships with the highest golf IQs in America and a high level of guest traffic everyday is highly stressful especially if you set out to deliver the level service Bob is known for worldwide.

Like his golf swing, Bob just makes everything he does look easy.

About thirty years ago I brought my son to Oakmont to meet Mr. Ford. I had played the course with a member friend a half a dozen times. When I got into the shop he remembered my name and asked if we wanted to putt a bit. My son still remembers it. So do I.

What a career!  Truly one of the gems of the profession.  Any update on who assumes the helm at Seminole?
