Re: Strongest Memories of Courses You've Not Seen in Some Time

Here are a few I can think of:

- New Orleans, Audobon Park GC: With about 20 minutes of sleep, we show up for an early morning tee time and grab rental sets.  If I was a cell phone, I would have been on about 3% battery power and interest in golf was waning at this point in time of my life but things work in strange ways and I some how went out and played some of the best golf I had ever played up to then.  This was over ten years ago but I still remember how as it became later in the morning, the surrounding community and parks becoming full of people, runners and kids.  That interaction between course and community was new to me and really enjoyed it.

-  Bandon Trails: Walking to the First tee, the path had a distinct smell.  A mix of evergreen and wood that remained throughout the round.

- Old Mac: Our first round there, the wind was moving in such a direction where we heard the ocean and the crashing of waves as soon as we crested the hill at the Third almost the entire round, and with the patches of fog, made for a fascinatingly eerie round.

-  Glen Annie, Goleta, CA. I started golfing in college and while the splurge was Sandpiper for us, I much preferred Glen Annie, mainly because it was the first course I played on a hilly property.  I still remember some of those view from the higher points and there were days you could see Sands Beach.  The excitement of the green above or the elevated tee shot is vivid and helped cultivate a love for the game.
