That is so wonderful...great find!  like a post-Machine Age, "Trackman" meets Simulator...12 fundamental British courses!...Quite amazing.

It's nothing like this, but in my golf-mad teens I played two "Golf Games"... one I'm sure many know: Thinking Man's Golf, which is a dice and board game with five(?) overlay maps of noted courses...(certain dice, give a certain outcome according to the board/course grid).

But another was quite unusual in its plastic video elements, as it was a VHS/VCR game which had scores of golf shots from (then ABC) Tournament TV on a Video cassette (with Dave Marr Jim McKay Bob Rosburg, Jack Whitaker and Peter Allis commentary), which you would let play and "PAUSE" when it was your turn to then play your "shot" from a companion board, which again, had a few notable courses, and certain video results were good and some were bad according to where your ball went on the companion board-course.
"The tee shot must first be hit straight and long between a vast bunker on the left which whispers 'slice' in the player's ear, and a wilderness on the right which induces a hurried hook." -

Nothing new under the sun I guess. Amazing.
