I'm going to say in addition to my previous entries that Pine Valley hasn't changed in "essence" much at all in the last 50 years. Sure the conditioning changed dramatically when Dick Bator was hired around 1980 transforming the "gem" from an architectural marvel combined with some of the best playing conditions in golf. But the key to the place, those incredible greens complexes are pretty much as you found them when I first saw it.

The place has so much property that the championship tees were fairly easy to add, and with the possible exception of #4 are really well integrated into the design. Sure the green on #2 , 10 and 15 have been altered , but only a trained eye and a transit would be able to see it.

#17 added the rolled up sod-walls around the green but it really doesn't impact the shot in very much if any.

Not NLGA in my mind but pretty good given the tmes and all the money they have had access to!
