I don't know I would have had the strength to do what so many parents are doing today. Best thing that ever happened to me was when my 16 year old daughter said she wanted to skip high school and go to college. That is always an option.

JK,

While I have played a lot of golf recently, really doing nothing except distancing (why don't you hit your tee shot way left this time, and I'll miss way right) and leaving the flag in.

I am staying in this week, under orders of my son, who is bringing my new granddaughter to visit for the first time, and wants us to be extra vigilant before their arrival.

So, not much today, thanks.

Same now as for most of the last 8 months, and most of it is standardized across the state (NC)
Masks in the pro shop or at check in, which some courses still do outside.Walking almost 100%, but if I ride, l ride solo in a cart; no doubling up.No events with shotgun starts.Haven't seen a bunker rake since March; everything is lift, clean and place.Flagsticks in, period.I don't pick up anybody else's gear, and they don't touch my stuffGood judgement about social distancing. No hanging around and having a beer after the round.Hand sanitizer when I get back to the car before I touch the wheel, etc.

I played a shotgun yesterday. The number of players was limited because of dinner afterwards but I agree there was some congregation before tee off.

I don't play golf, which isn't much different than my pre-COVID life. Helping my wife run remote learning for my three kids while getting some work done during the day and the rest of it done in the evenings is zapping my energy. We are about to get a COVID dog this weekend, so I'll have someone to walk nine holes with me on a weekend evening when I get back out there.

Played golf this morning where the fall conditions  plus the wind made the course 8/10 strokes harder but I loved it. Then I had a very important business meeting which went well. Then I’m answering your question John.

Golf still remains a relatively harmless activity during the pandemic.  Assuming people play in the day time meaning they will be bombarded by UV rays from the sun, this has shown to inactivate the virus fairly quickly...compared to darker and cooler conditions.

https://www.contagionlive.com/view/sunlight-inactivates-the-airborne-virus-that-causes-covid19.

It doesn't mean to ignore social distancing rules, or touching common equipment, but your chances of getting it outdoors are significantly reduced when compared to other indoor activities like shopping or dining where air is cycled thru an HVAC system.

Playing the same amount of golf as before Covid. After a lifetime of private club membership, I gave that up in favor of playing a wide variety of courses with a regular group. We play with a couple of leagues, but we limit play only to courses that provide single-rider carts.

Many courses do not provide single-rider carts.  Surprisingly, the senior leagues do not require them.   More amazingly, we’ve encountered courses that both require a cart and refuse to provide single-rider carts.

It’s all about profit for some courses, willing to pass the risk on to their customers.  Everyone votes with their business.  As long as customers are willing to risk it, some courses will force them to double up on carts.

This reduces the number of courses available to my group by about 50%, but leaves us ample options.  I guess private clubs are more likely provide members with individual carts. If options dwindle, it may soon be time to return to private membership as an alternative to giving up the game.

I wonder if cart manufacturers will develop small single-rider carts.  I realize that some exist today, but they’re pretty rare and don’t seem too well designed or marketed.  I’m too old to try the skateboard style options!

Well, I spent the day at my orthopedist. I have injured my Posterior Tibial Tendon. I will get an MRI to determine if it is torn or not. I'm rooting for not.

Dang sorry to hear that Tommy.   I was hoping maybe you would come down for some fall golf in SC.

One of the things that bothers me about all this COVID-19 research stuff is when popular media provides their interpretation without linking to the actual study.  No mention of limitations and assumptions.  At least it wasn't a retweet of tweet about an article referencing a study.

For those interested in the study (I know there are likely only a few):

I spent the day finalizing the longest most painful tax season of my career while reminding myself that I should be thankful that my business has been relatively unaffected by Covid. Did however leave the office at noon today to play a round with another CPA and a couple of friends.

It’s all about profit for some courses, willing to pass the risk on to their customers.  Everyone votes with their business.  As long as customers are willing to risk it, some courses will force them to double up on carts.
Actually it's about survival.  If your a public course struggling to keep in business and you only own 60 carts and you give a cart to everybody in a foursome, you will run out of carts in 2 hours assuming 8 minute tee times.   Public courses would love to space out the tee times but they can't because they must drive revenue.

On a busy day, most courses turn their carts over at least once and sometimes more than that. For a lot of public and semi-private courses, it's not that they don't want to be safe, it's simply that they want to continue to exist!

I'm sure some will argue, just increase your fleet size, but that shows a lack of understanding of costs related to fleet management, gas/electric, and storage costs.  Renting carts temporarily is also not cost effective.
