2021 Midwest Mashie - Harvester GC- (NOT A SIGNUP) Updated 15 Dec 2020

2020 Recap: Let’s begin by repeating our thanks to Craig Haltom and our friends at Lawsonia Links. They invented tee times for 36 sublime holes of COVID-safe, single-day Mashie play. Also thanks to Ron Forse for trekking to Packerland USA to join, walk, and talk about their work that reclaimed L&M from the forest.

2021 New Business: Your Mashie Committee scoured the golf-scape across a wide variety of golf crazed tee sheets. COVID pending, we are pleased to announce that The Harvester Golf Club of Rhodes Iowa has agreed to host our fęte.  For two days in September, We will effectively become our own principality of golf... our “Own Private Iowa”.  Yes Adam Lawrence, I absolutely typed that “corny” line to annoy your Oxford English sensibilities.  All of this is of course subject to change but as it stands, this is poised to be another outstanding Midwest Mashie.

Summary of Details - Subject to change

Not to play Mashie Historian but wouldn't next year be the 12th Mashie? First was in 2010 at Lost Dunes...in counting I came up with 12?

I’m a newbie here.

Can someone please enlighten me on what The Mashie is? It sounds like a fun get together of sorts

This is crazy.

I played in 6 of the first 7 events, finally saw the East side get a win, captained an East team to a win in Minnesota (even though Pat Craig drummed me like a school boy in singles) but I haven't attended a Mashie since 2016.

Let 2021 be the year to finally return!!

I don't think this is a sign up thread -- don't want anyone to be disappointed when that comes out and they think they already have a spot.

I've talked with Vaughn and George a bit lately. We're planning to give a heads-up this year before we formally announce the 2021 location and open "registration." Knowing that not everyone checks GCA daily, the plan is to give a few day's notice so that Mashie devotees have awareness to when they'll want to log on and confirm interest in attending.

So keep watching this thread for an upcoming announcement, regarding a subsequent announcement.

Seconded. Is this an option or is it one of the places that has gotten booked up? Would love to be involved in 2021 regardless!

There will be an announcement forthcoming.
Please understand that most locations are selling slots at full price and have run out of capacity in some cases.
Giving a special rate to a group of our size and locking out a booking in advance is not necessarily in the best interests of resorts nor turning away guests looking to play at any cost.

Trust us, we have already been in conversation with a number of locations and this is oddly, one of the golf business' strongest markets.

This is a great ask but we ask all to be patient and stay tuned.

Pandemic golf demand is outstripping supply.
There will be a 2021 Midwest Mashie announcement forthcoming. Please understand that most locations are selling slots at full price and have run out of capacity in some cases. Giving a special rate to a group of our size that has 30% plus drop out rate is not necessarily in the best interest of any location. Nor does it help our currently excellent reputation.
People are now booking golf and turning away guests looking to play at any cost.

Trust us, we have already been in conversation with a number of locations and this is one of the golf business' strongest markets in history.
We are dialing some potential accommodation options.

We are getting close with an excellent package.
See my previous reply to Jreese above regarding announcements.
In all seriousness, we are getting close to finalizing a very nice event.
