JK,
Yer wife's getting a perm!! That's a hair-raising idea!

Cheers Col

Some things are worth the risk. It's never too late for that first perm.

In Jersey, which although United Kingdom does have its own laws, you can't be open for a Playground, Sports Court or SPORTS PITCH.

Golf courses are listed separately and ARE OPEN FOR GOLFING provide you practice good safety measures.

Adrian,

once again you are making up things to try and back up your discredited point of view. The Channel Islands are not part of the UK  ::)

If you want to carry on clutching at straws then go ahead and open up.
We might May 1st. I am in talks with enforcement now.

And who exactly is 'enforcement' ? ::)

Enforcement is the council and breach of law.

They have asked me to submit the reasons how golf could be played safely and the measures we would take to minimise the risk of contracting or transfer of Covid 19. They also asked my thoughts on fishing!

Would be interested in Mark Pearce's thoughts if the wording from how Jersey view things would carry any weight in English Law. My view would be it would as it would be difficult to disprove the definition under English Law after having another law maker of the same language define it that way.

I am not saying I will get permission, but it is certainly not a defined NO.

I have not spoken to the chambers to seek opinion as I don't think I would get enough advice for free, they have a corporate membership here but they like to examine every detail and it's usually a £1000 to decide if the cat is on the mat or not sat.

It appears that Jersey has a different regulation.  That regulation is irrelevant for the interpretation of the regulation in force in England.
In June I will be riding the first three stages of this year's Tour de France route for charity.  630km (394 miles) in three days, with 7800m (25,600 feet) of climbing for the William Wates Memorial Trust (https://rideleloop.org/the-charity/) which supports underprivileged young people.

I understand that. That was not what you were asked.

You asked if I thought it would bear any weight.  I said no.  I am not going to give legal advice on a golf course architecture message board.  I can just point out facts.
