Having given up on Photobucket I've opened up a free Flickr account. Have manged to post with the following tutorial from Sean A, (Thank you), (also see note 3 - how to avoid the software messing with your posts)
How to post photo’s from Flickr
1
To get the right URL from Flickr Start in Photostream or Folder
Left Click on to get single picture
Bottom right of screen 4 little images. Counting L-R no 3 Hover over, new box appears says “Download this photo”

On new screen hover over photo. Right Click and on new options offered Left Click on “Copy Image Address”

Use this to prepare to post photo on GCA and need to insert in below
[ img width=800]..................

Then remove all the dots .............. and all the spaces EXCEPT between "img" and "width"
To show how on GCA I've also added a space after the first "[" square bracket and before the last "]"

NB despite the pint below the software here makes it unbelievably hard to give tutorials.

To overcome the problem of the software resizing your text when editing or posting with text copied from another source, e.g. Word, first select the following
Click on post. End of second line of funny little boxes (just above line of emoticons), there’s an image with red brackets in it, Hover over this and you see ‘Toggle View’. Select this with a left click.
Nothing looks different but once you use this you are OK to edit and format won’t be messed up and resized. This is good for all posting.[/img]
