Nice drone video of my favorite (and possibly best designed) hole on the course:

The green on that hole is unbelievable. It's one of the few holes I thought was more difficult the second time I played it, because the first time I wasn't aware of the runoff on the left side of the green, and the hidden bunker back there. The second time, I knew what was ahead of me and knew how small the landing area on the green really was. And all of that with a wedge in my hand.

Dan -

The way the 5th green is set on a diagonal (and the fact that the green is relatively narrow) really makes this short hole challenging. The deeper into the green the pin is set the more a drive down the left side of the fairway is rewarded, as you have the whole length of the green to work with on your 2nd shot. But that is not easy, as the fairway does slope a bit left to right. Trying to get a ball close to a back pin position from the right side of the fairway is a very tough shot, even with a wedge in your hand. The effective landing area is quite small.

Thanks for sharing David. Fond memories of playing there a number of years ago. That hole always stuck out for me. Also, had the privilege of playing with a (now) common friend of yours Ian L. at Aronimink this past Fall.

A great hole indeed. Last time I played it was down wind and drove it down the right maybe 40-50 yards short. Thought I was fine but the nature of that green made the chip a nightmare and ended up in the bunker. left definitely best..

I’m hoping they could do something like that on 3 at NSW which would be similar length but a blind tee shot.
