Must be 13-16 at North Berwick West.  Those holes have influenced and inspired many.  How can you top: The Pit, Perfection, Redan, and the Biaritz green?  Throw in the setting and the history...pretty tough to beat!

N Berwick 13 to 16 is not bad. I like 14 to 17 TOC as well. 11 to 14 at Cypress or 13 to 17 is just as good. so maybe 11 to 17 is as good as it gets.

Best 5 in a row:
Merion East 1-5
Shinnecock 10-14

But since this thread is 4 in a row:
Merion East 2-5 followed closely 1-4
Philly Country 14-17 (14 is improved with new back tee)

15-18 Royal Lytham -

All par 4's though. Does that stop them being great?

Second bite of the cherry:

Commonwealth 15-18 in match play, or any format, is a challenging and exciting stretch.

Any consecutive group from 5-11 at top bit at Painswick (i.e. 5-8, 6-9, 7-10, 8-11) are hard to beat.

1-4 at NGLA and 1-4 at Dornoch come close.

I think we have had one of these sometime before but always good to do again

Royal Melbourne West 3,4,5,6 (my favorite sequence of golf holes on the planet)
Old Course 14,15,16,17
Old Course 11,12,13,14
National Moonah 2,3,4,5
NSW 4,5,6,7

and I do like

Dornoch 14,15,16,17

Good choices Harley: nailing one set of four is nigh on impossible. No surprise that RM West 3-6 keeps getting nominated.

Just to tililate us, is there a four-hole stretch at Ellerston that compares? We'll take your word HK.

Paul

I must confess I haven't made the journey (a long one) to Ellerston to play it. Went a few times during construction and particulalry liked the holes out the back and the sequence of holes 10,11,12,13. But then on thinking about it holes 13,14,15,16  is a nice run too.....

Must get there soon

Harley: I know Darius Oliver thinks very highly of these stretch of holes, as he does of the whole course.

I heard a rumour that Jamie Packer plays Ellerston in his speedo's when the mood strikes.  :o This can't be. When I was told, it was very windy at the time; I'm sure the person who told me actually meant that Jamie plays speedily.  :)
