Lou,

I hadn't heard this, thanks for letting us know. Hopefully Rihc will make a good recovery and continue to post on here for many years to come. Fingers crossed.

Rich does not know me from Adam, but he welcomed me even though I am a Newbie with generous advice about our visit to Dornoch and an even more generous invitation to join his family reunion/party on the beach.  Unfortunately, our schedules did not mesh. And it sounds like a helluva party.

All thoughts and prayers with him and his family.

Ira

A very willing host who had me out with him at Dornoch oh almost 20 years ago and then kind enough to introduce me to Glenmorangie at the local pub.  Always a gentleman to me in any correspondence.  Thanks Rich and best to a speedy recovery..

Rich has been a fountain of knowledge and cheerful leader of great discussions on GCA.com for decades.  We are all so much better to have known him and walked over great golf grounds whilst engaging in meaningful conversations on so many subjects his fine mind has mastered.  All our love and encouragement to Josie and dear Rich to stay the course and continue to share your bonhomus.  A true and hail-fellow-well-met.

Surprised and very saddened to read this, but knowing Rich, he is giving his cancer cells all they can handle. We're pulling for you, Mr. Goodale.

Rich is one of the nicest and most interesting people I've met via gca.  I've had the pleasure of spending time with him on 3 or more occasions, always enjoyable.

Our thoughts and prayers are with you, Rich!  Hope to see you back on the Links real soon.

Rich,

Keep up the good fight.

I want to see that claw method holing everything again as I witnessed at Applebrook.  I also value your wise counsel over the years and I knew if you were going to give me advice here it was because I needed it.

Rich,
Wishing you healing, my friend. I don’t know why bad things like cancer have to happen to good people like you. I’m thinking about you and Josie, and praying for a great outcome.

Good positive thoughts for Rich, who has participated in a few discussions with BK over the years.

Lets all cheer for a quick adjustment to his medication and a speedy recovery; after all The Open is only a week away and he'll want to opine on the happenings on the and bit south and east side of him at Royal Portrush.

Really enjoyed Rich's company at the Buda in Silloth and got a couple of signed copies of his books.

I emailed Rich to send on my best wishes and Josie responded on his behalf. I'm not sure that Rich has had any access to his email or internet while he has been in hospital but I've asked Josie to send on everyone's best wishes and let him know we are all thinking of him.

That was a fun time at the beer festival, especially some of the people watching.

I believe this was the first time I met Rich as well. Really rooting for him now.
