Jones and associate Bryson Swanson will work closely with superintendent Alan FitzGerald at LedgeRock Golf Club.

“Every golf course needs to be reevaluated from time to time,” Jones said. “At 17, we are taking out the cross bunker to make the hole more playable for every caliber player. On hole number 10, we are building more tee locations to create more shot variety on a daily basis.”

I caught LedgeRock on a colorful day back in 2016.  Its a pretty course, but very difficult -- if you can shoot your handicap here, you've had a banner day (spoiler alert -- I did not).  While it is very challenging, the only hole that really struck me as over-the-line was the 17th, so its good to hear that they are softening it at least a bit.

Here are a few shots from that day:

Nice high quality photos. The style of the bunkers are typical Rees and just hideous.  They don't look natural and don't enhance the property or aesthetics.

The new tees on the Tenth are set to the right of the original tees and will bring the water on the right more into play, as well as the bunkers.  I think the new angle into the green will make the drop shot par 3 a little more exciting.  On the Seventeenth, I believe the left section of one of the bunkers before the green will be taken out to provide more room on that side to work with.  I've always liked the Seventeenth how it is, I like where it appears in the round, the visual intimidation and the strong reactions it evokes from all ends of the spectrum.  I've always felt the hole is anchored to the identity of the course in general, so I'm intrigued to see how these changes come out.  I'm glad to hear Alan will be involved.

I disagree with the above comment on the bunkering.
