Wimbledon Common GC and London Scottish GC

These two clubs play across common ground in Wimbledon and require their golfers to wear red jumpers (sweaters) or red shirts while playing. Do they share the same course or does each club have its own course?

What was the course at Wimbledon that was being sold and the members were going to get a share?  Not these I take it?

Wimbledon Common GC and London Scottish GC share the same course but have separate clubhouses. London Scottish has its clubhouse by the 8th tee of the Wimbledon Common course, and so starts its round there.

This is a completely different course to Wimbledon Park, which has recently sold to the tennis club.

Edited to add;

A little further reading reveals that London Scottish is the older club by some way and that their clubhouse was the original starting point for the course.

It would be fairer to say therefore, that Wimbledon Common GC start their course on the 12th hole of the London Scottish course. ;)

I have long wanted to see this course despite the less than encouraging descriptions of "tight" and "tree lined".  How do the tee times work?

I meant how does the system work with two starting points.

Let's make a plan for LS and Minch Old.

There’s enough that’s cool about the course that it’s worth seeing, gents.

My memory is that the best land is at the London Scottish clubhouse end of the course.

Duncan not strictly correct, the All England Tennis Club owned the land Wimbledon Park is situated on, the tennis club wanted to terminate the lease early so paid a massive premium in order to do so.

I've never played it but I have walked across the course a few times and I'd agree that this is a good description.

A few cool greens and some interesting holes around the 'Ceasar's Camp' earthworks that can also be seen at the top of Royal Wimbledon next door but a few of the holes further down the hill away from Royal Wimbledon are very basic and short. Don't expect great conditioning but for what I'd assume is a very reasonable green fee there looks to be enough to keep you interested.

I did start a thread on Wimbledon Common with a few photos a few years ago which is below;

Unfortunately the photos have fallen victim to photobucket issues but I'll have a look to see if I can get them re-attached.
