Cabo San Lucas / Los Cabos Advice
« on: January 10, 2019, 02:40:52 AM »
Hi all,
Surprisingly, my wife wants to go to Cabo for a family trip.  I can play golf if I can find a hotel that has kids care for my 4 year old -- I assume my 13 year old can find a teen play area / swimming pools.
Two questions ...1)  Where would you stay that has a kids club that takes 4 year olds, and2)  What is the order of golf courses that you would play?  (From best to worst).  If I can find a kids club, I think I get 2 if not 3 rounds in.
Thanks for any suggestions / advice / help!

The two best courses are Diamante Dunes and the Ocean course at Cabo del Sol.

I have stayed at the Sheraton at Cabo del Sol a few times.  I am not sure whether or not they have a kids club but the beach and setting is beautiful, the hotel is adequate and the two golf courses are nearby.  The potential downside is that the place is a bit isolated from the activity in town.

Thanks Jason!  The golf course suggestions sound right on based on what I'm reading ... I'll try to play both of those if I can get on.
If anyone has any other lodging suggestions, especially for kids club for the 4 year old or any other golf course recommendations if I don't get to play the first two, it would be much appreciated!

The Sheraton Grand does have a kids club.  It's a really nice resort right on the ocean.  I would play Diamante Dunes and Chileno Bay if you can access.

Thanks guys!  I'm going to take a closer look at the Sheraton, and golfwise, I'll try for Diamante, Ocean Course, and Chileno Bay.

Has anyone played Twin Dolphins Golf Club?  Todd Eckenrode designed it with Fred Couples.

Updated ranking of Cabo courses would look like this (with accessibility notes)

Tier 1
Chileno Bay Club (requires stay at boutique hotel on site - Chileno Bay Resort & Residences)

Twin Dolphin (requires stay at on site Montage Hotel)

Diamante Dunes (requires sales presentation prior to round)

Cabo del Sol Ocean (until this spring/summer - open to general public)

Querencia (prívate club generally accessible with introduction from our home professional)

Tier 2
Cabo del Sol Desert (Open to the general public)

Club Campestre San José (Open to the general public)

Diamante Cardonal (sales presentation required prior to round)

Puerto Los Cabos (Open to the general public)

Cabo Real (Open to general public)

Palmilla (Open to general public)

Quivira (requires stay at Pueblo Bonito group hotels wither on site or on Medano Beach on San Lucas Bay)

That is how I would list them top to bottom as of today... stay tuned as changes coming.
