Par 3 course at Castle Stuart
Par 3 course at Cabot
Par 3 course at Gamble Sands

Coul Links
Sheep Ranch at Bandon
Par 3 course at Bandon (Doak?)
Wynn Course Redo
Fazio in Nashville - Discovery Land Co

Haven’t heard a thing about a par 3 course at Gamble Sands.  Do you have any links to articles.  Would love to hear more about that.

How many of those are even built now?  If they aren't built now, they're not opening in 2019 ... well, except the one project I'm about to start.

I asked Ron Whitten how many new courses he expected in 2019 for the Best New competition.  He wasn't sure yet but he said there had been 19 this year, including a few tear-down remodels, and he would be surprised if it was even that many next year.

Our sole 2019 opening is The National in Australia.  We changed the Ocean course so much they are going to re-name it.

Maybe if a par 3 course wins best new it will finally legitimize the "executive" hole-in-one.

Is that official?  I hadn't heard.
I get it, you are mad at the world because you are an adult caddie and few people take you seriously.

Excellent spellers usually lack any vision or common sense.

I know plenty of courses that are in the red, and they are killing it.

Correction on Gamble Sands.  It was a second course not a par 3 course.

I noted this on DMK's Instagram page.

After more research, I think Hanse at FD was just conjecture from Ginella and LINKS mag.  So unconfirmed.

N&P is official.

The LINKS article about "what Hanse is up to next" (seems to be written mid-2018) mentions "Ballyshear" at Ben Rakat in Thailand and a new course at Les Bordes in France.

So I jump ship in Hong Kong....

What ever became of the redesign of The Pit, around Pinehurst? A few years ago I think I remember reading about construction starting as course 9 or 10 or whatever is next, but I haven't heard any more about it. Could it be on the horizon again soon?

"Par 3 course at Castle Stuart"

Steve R. -

I am not aware of a par-3 course being contemplated much less under construction at Castle Stuart.

There are plans for a second 18-hole course there. However at this point construction on it has not begun, nor has a date been announced when it will begin.

I don't know the latest schedule, but Michael Jordan's Grove XXIII is scheduled to open is 2019 last I saw down in Hobe Sound, Fl.  Bobby Weed design.  Love to check that place out when it opens as it won't be anything like a typical golf club.
BTW of mention is that Bobby Weed is using data to design the course from Darren May's "Every Shot Counts" who is supposedly The Grove XXIII's golf coach and ambassador.

All that at the mere cost of a good-to-great actual Donald Ross course?

This is from Golfcoursearchitecture.com but I find it impossible to believe...

Par 3 course at Castle Stuart is for sure.  Mark Parsinen (sp) is designing and building it.  I've seen the dirt being moved with my own eyes.  It will get done before the Palmer Course.

I fear they've flattened and broadened the excellent 15th hole and probably absolutely gutted the compelling 12th. For a flat site, that much variety in Par 3s and 5s should be preserved. I doubt it was.

Also rather bitter about losing a great affordable option in Pinellas County that didn't come with all the nonsense surrounding the experience at Dunedin.

One that is very much under the radar is Torvean Golf Club in Inverness. So with the apparent par three course at CS that makes two in the Highlands.

Half of the North course at Alameda is supposed to be done in 2019, with the second half in 2020.

The Cabot Par 3 is most likely 2020 they hadn't started anything serious when I left at the start of July this year.
