Traigh on the 10th November
« on: October 16, 2018, 08:11:38 AM »
Jon Wigget and I are intending to play our quarter final of the UK Knockout at Traigh on the 10th November. In the unlikely event that anyone happens to be in the area on that date you are more than welcome to join us. Just bear in mind the clubhouse will be shut and there will be an honesty box in operation so bring some cash.

I am in awe of you two.  Talk about seeking out the out-of-the-way hidden gems!  And the optimism (11/9)!!  Full report with pictures expected.

Sorely tempted...

The only way to get rid of a temptation is to yield to it. Resist it, and your soul grows sick with longing for the things it has forbidden to itself, with desire for what its monstrous laws have made monstrous and unlawful.

Holy Toledo. That place looks incredible. Can't wait to see photos, but it looks like a new course has been added to my 'to-see' list.

2.5 hours from Inverness doesn't sound far until you know that they haven't invented paved roads yet in that part of the world.  ;D

That looks awesome gents! Have fun. It almost looks good enough to break my streak of trying at all costs to avoid 9 hole golf courses that are not attached to 18 hole golf courses. (not really but kind of)

The last time I visited a 9 hole course on a trip that was a stand alone was with a GCA group when we played 36 at the Sacred 9 a few years back...maybe a few more years back than I realize actually.

Nevertheless, it still looks like a lot of fun.

I've been there and would love to join you.  Inconveniently, I'm 6.000 miles away.  Of the many golf courses I've noticed, but didn't play, this one found its way to my bucket list.  Enjoy gents.

Are you planning on staying over or doing the heroic drive and play and drive option???

I could be persuaded either way. A stop over offers the benefit of a game the day before or after depending on what night you stay. Otherwise happy to do it as a day trip.

Unfortunately I'll miss the opportunity of joining you for this by a week or so as I'm heading to see my parents soon but not that week.

I loved my round at Traigh a few years ago ahead of a ferry over to Skye from Mallaig. Have fun!

Jon W, I'll email you to let you know when I'll be around and perhaps we can get a game?

Cheers,

James
