That's an extremely generous invitation, should it work out. Typically the King's Putter is contested over the weekend, as sadly most golf course architecture aficionados work for a living! That being said we have tacked a private club on the Monday following the weekend, which might well work out at Rolling Hills. Organization is a breeze, just put out the invitation and write down the names! We'll split the teams as close to north and south as possible. Players will be responsible for negotiating strokes for their individual matches. Usually we have fourball and individual matches Ryder Cup style; we even played foursomes in Canada one year. Charge an upfront price to cover all costs, demand a deposit and have participants pay in full before the event. I live in San Diego and will be retired next year so I can help out with the organization.
One round at Rolling Hills would probably not be enough incentive to attract people outside of LA so we would need at least one more venue. Other close by local options could be:
Los Verdes Municipal
Palos Verdes CC (the architect who did their restoration is a member of our Discussion Group)
Trump International
Recreation Park in Long Beach
Terranea 9 hole Par 3
Another generous offer to host at one of LA's privates would be welcome no matter how far the drive.
